Life Over Lymphoma is on a mission to expedite a cure for lymphoma by raising funds for research and promoting awareness so as to empower people with knowledge, faith and hope.
In honour of the late Philip Lavorgna and his dream to help eradicate Lymphoma Cancer, a Gala Extravaganza, “NEW YORK, NEW YORK”, was held on October 26th at La Primavera Hospitality & Convention Centre. During the last 3 years we have welcomed over 2,200 guests to our gala events and raised over $155,000! These tremendous goals would not have been possible to achieve without our compassionate private donators, generous corporate sponsors and dedicated volunteers. We thank you for supporting us along the way. Joanne Lavorgna For further information about the researdh fellowship that will be awarded this October please visit www.lymphoma.ca/philiplavorgnalfcresearchfellowship.htm
We want to thank the Jean-Guy Laforest Foundation in St-Jean Richelieu, Quebec. The JGLF is a non profit organization resulting from a family initiative following the unexpected death of their father, Jean-Guy, in the summer of 2006. Its mission is to raise funds for lymphoma medical research to find a cure. Early 2007, the JGL Foundation officially announced its support for LFC
On December 15th 2007 the JGL Foundation held their first fundraiser with the Concorps Danse Troop, under the directorship of Brigitte Laforest, daughter of Jean-Guy. Angèle Menard, Regional Manager, Quebec, spoke to a crowd of 500 people and proudly accepted the cheque on behalf of LFC. It was a great event building new relationships while raising new dollars for research. Congratulations!
Gordon Robb, Bowmanville ON, cycled across Canada to raise funds for lymphoma research. What a fantastic experience from Gordon, 25, who cycled across Canada to raise awareness and funds for lymphoma. He left Victoria on July 9th and completed his journey in Halifax two months and 7 days later. Thank you Gord for your dedication and inspiration.
