Since lymphoma is increasingly diagnosed amongst adolescents as well as young adults (AYAs) between the ages of 15 and 39, The Lymphoma AYA Support Program works to ensure the health, and well-being of adolescents and young adults.

AYA Patient Experience

Learn how other AYA youth are coping with lymphoma.

Madison Miles was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at age 22. She has completed Chemotherapy treatment at Princess Margaret Cancer Center and contributes to patient support materials here at Lymphoma Canada. Click here to learn more about Madison’s journey with lymphoma.

Peer Support Program

This program connects patients and caregivers with those who have already experienced lymphoma.

If you’ve recently been diagnosed with lymphoma, it may be helpful to speak with another AYA individual who has experienced treatment and learned how to cope with your same disease. If you are interested in being paired with a peer volunteer, please complete our AYA Peer Support Form.

To become an AYA peer volunteer, we ask that you meet the following criteria:

  • Are a lymphoma survivor with a one year post active treatment and are between the ages of 18-38. If you are 39 and above, please consider joining our general Peer Support Program.
  • Share an interest in helping others
  • Undergo screening conducted by Lymphoma Canada to ensure that you are a good fit for the program. Additional volunteer opportunities are available.
  • Participate in and complete all training provided by Lymphoma Canada
  • Make a minimum one-year commitment to the program
  • Are available to meet periodically to receive ongoing training and education updates
