This webinar will highlight the emotional, practical, and resource-based support available to patients and caregivers – from navigating treatment decisions and coping with stress to accessing financial assistance, community programs, and communication tools for better care coordination. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of how social work services can empower individuals, enhance quality of life, and provide guidance at every stage of diagnosis and treatment.

Speaker Bio:

Lisa Malinowski Kamran (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker (MSW, RSW), Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200), and Mindfulness Educator, dedicated to fostering inclusive spaces where individuals and groups feel truly connected.
With a background spanning hospitality, social work, and over a decade of contemplative practice, Lisa tailors her approach to meet diverse needs, designing effective programs and resources.
Her work has included supporting equitable health initiatives in Flint, Michigan, in response to the Water Crisis, as well as providing mindfulness, leadership, and mental health support and training across Canada and the U.S. Based in Toronto, Lisa serves as the Membership and Outreach Coordinator at Gilda’s Toronto, supporting individuals and families to live while living with cancer.
