Know Your Nodes was launched by Lymphoma Canada as a lymphoma awareness campaign to celebrate World Lymphoma Awareness Day in 2006. In 2007, the campaign won an Award of Excellence from The Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) and was launched as a global initiative of the international Lymphoma Coalition. Today, Know Your Nodes is in over 30 countries around the world.

The Know Your Nodes campaign was built on the insight that people know little about their lymphatic system, and in turn, lymphoma. In an international survey conducted by the Lymphoma Coalition, nearly three-quarters (74 percent) of people did not know lymphoma was a kind of cancer and less than half (49 percent) knew anything about lymphoma at all. Lymphoma has increased an estimated 60 percent since the 1970s in Canada. As well, it is the fifth most common cancer and is the fastest rising cancer in the young adult population (15 to 39 year olds) in Canada. Despite this, many Canadians don’t know very much about lymphoma.

Take the Know Your Nodes quiz to test your knowledge and learn more about your lymph nodes, lymphatic system and lymphoma.
