Some students experience temporary or long-term learning challenges as a result of lymphoma or certain types of lymphoma treatments. These challenges can include concentration, reading comprehension, and/or memory issues.
If you feel that you are struggling with these issues, you may wish to inform your instructor of your lymphoma experience as sometimes they are able to help you informally. For example, they may give you extra time to complete projects or provide you copies of their class notes.
You can also ask for help from your healthcare team and seek advice on how to manage these issues. Your healthcare team at your campus health centre should be able to offer assistance in obtaining services and accommodations to support you. You can inquire about extended time to complete tests, tutoring, and other supportive services. All formal requests will probably require that your medical disability be documented by a medical professional.
