When Mary Jon was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma in 2005, there was not a lot of readily available information, particularly from Canadian sources. This is how she came to be involved with Lymphoma Canada. She wanted to be part of helping other patients obtain useful information.

Mary Jon is a founding member of the Southwestern Ontario Chapter peer support group. She is an active peer mentor and has recruited oncology professionals internationally for Cancer Care Ontario for five years. She currently serves on Lymphoma Canada’s Patient, Family & Advisory Committee, and our Patient Support & Research Committee.

Mary Jon is a retired manager and teacher in the healthcare sector and is a seasoned volunteer in local, provincial, national, and international capacities. She has served on Boards and committees, including taking on the roles of President, Chair, and Treasurer.

Mary Jon is currently enjoying 13 years of full remission and loves to spend her time gardening, walking, reading, and golfing.
