I was diagnosed at the age of 22 with Hodgkin Lymphoma. I was a nursing student and a mother of 1 at the time. I started ABVD through 9 cycles and was cleared via PET scan. They chose not to do radiation. After 6 months in “remission” I felt unwell. Was scanned again, and disease was back. I had to go through intense salvage chemo, a autologous bone marrow transplant and 4 weeks of radiation. I am now 6 years in remission this month and a proud mother of two more babies , that were naturally conceived after all the treatments I had. Despite living with anxiety for fear the cancer will return, I live very healthy and am a patient advocate and director of wellness.
