Do you suffer from extreme fatigue due to lymphoma, regardless of if you are a current or former patient?
A unique app has been developed to help you: the Tired of Cancer app.
The Tired of Cancer app deals with a specific problem – fatigue – that so many (former) cancer patients suffer from, often long after their treatment. By reading, writing, listening and doing exercises on a daily basis, you can get a better grip on your fatigue and improve your quality of life.
Before this app is launched worldwide, a pilot scheme is going to be carried out in the coming months. Lymphoma Canada has been asked to participate. This means that the app will be offered, free of charge, to a number of current and former lymphoma patients. The pilot project will happen in six different countries.
And you can be one of the participants!
To be able to participate in this pilot and gain access to this app, you commit to filling in a questionnaire from time to time so that the results of the app can be tracked by the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. We will use your input to improve the app in order to best help those who suffer from fatigue. Your privacy will be guaranteed.
If you would like to participate, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Within a day, you will receive an e-mail with a link to the first short questionnaire. After filling it out, you will receive a code that you can use to log into the app for free. The app is web-based, which means that an internet connection is needed to use it. You can use the app on your cell phone, tablet and/or PC.
Many thanks in advance for your cooperation!
Who is behind this app?
The driving forces behind the app are the founders Dr. Bram Kuiper and Door Vonk MA. The app is designed by a group of psychologists and researchers from the Helen Dowling Institute (HDI). The HDI is the oldest, largest and most well-known institute in the Netherlands in the field of psycho-oncology and a pioneer because they are the only ones who combine care with scientific research and the education of doctors and nursing staff. They developed an internet therapy to alleviate extreme fatigue, which has been proved to be effective. The app is based on this therapy and was developed because the founders want everyone to benefit from their knowledge and experience.
The Tired of Cancer team works together with patient organizations in various countries to distribute the app. www.tiredofcancerapp.com
