Overview:

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to lymphoma patients and caregivers. Whether you are newly diagnosed, currently receiving treatment or are a lymphoma survivor, this webinar will provide you with information about the impacts of COVID-19 for lymphoma patients at different stages of care. Available information and research about the COVID-19 vaccines will also be shared. The following topics will be discussed at this webinar:

Speaker Biography:

Dr. Lisa Hicks, MD, MSc

Hematologist, St. Michael’s Hospital
Associate Professor, University of Toronto
Associate Scientist in the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute

Dr. Lisa Hicks is a malignant hematologist at St. Michael’s Hospital with an academic focus on quality improvement and innovation. She uses traditional clinical epidemiology methods combined with quality improvement techniques to develop interventions to improve the safety and efficiency of patient care. She also has an interest in understanding and preventing harm from cancer treatments. Dr. Hicks is an active contributor to the development of clinical practice guidelines. She collaborates in this work with Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) and the American Society of Hematology (ASH). She helped create the ASH RC COVID-19 registry, a global reference tool for COVID-19 hematology patients and cases, and co-leads the malignant hematology portion of the registry. She has published research on the outcomes of patients with hematological malignancies and COVID-19 and is dedicated to understanding the impacts of COVID-19 and ensuring patients are receiving the best possible care.
