Lymphoma Canada participants took steps towards raising awareness by participating and fundraising in one of Toronto’s largest marathons.

As first time participators in Toronto’s reputable Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon, 13 determined individuals prepared for the event in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Lymphoma Canada. Lymphoma survivors, supporters and volunteers united on behalf of Lymphoma Canada towards reaching a goal of raising $5000 so the organization can continue to inform, empower and essentially fight for a cure.  Although a small group, the enthusiastic team morale could not be denied as the announcer made a special mention to Lymphoma Canada prior to the race. Victoriously striding past the finish line not only marked the completion of the race, but was also a celebration for significantly surpassing the fundraising goal with an impressive total of $7226.00.

Thank you to the motivated individuals who participated, all of whom chose to take part in the 5K component of the race, as well as the many supporters of Lymphoma Canada who were unable to attend this year SAVE THE DATE!  Next year is bound to be another thrilling ride and we invite you and your loved ones to come out, lace up on October 19, and actively support the cause in 2014.
