For some types of lymphomas, treatment options are highly dependent upon molecular and genetic tests doctors order at the time of diagnosis. This webinar aims to help our lymphoma & CLL community understand what these tests are and the importance of them. Information will also be provided on the scientific background of molecular identification via flow cytometry and fluorescent in situ hybridization.

Speaker Biography:

Dr. Lin Yang

Dr. Yang is a hematologist and researcher at CancerCare Manitoba and has a clinical practice in lymphoma including chronic lymphocytic leukemia and general hematology. She attended medical school at McMaster University before returning to the University of Manitoba to complete her Internal Medicine and Hematology training. Before medical school, she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Toronto. The focus of her doctoral research was on cancer-driving genes in acute leukemia. Her current major area of focus is on chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
