After feeling sick for quite some time, Christina went to the walk-in-clinic where they took a blood test. It was determined that her hemoglobin was very low, and because of this, she was referred to a hematologist who was able to diagnose her with lymphoma.

Because Christina was left undiagnosed for quite some time, the tumor in her chest grew to be 12cm x 10cm in size. The tumor had grown so large that it was pressing on her heart and had created a one litre build-up of fluid, which impaired her heart function.

At Lymphoma Canada we are raising awareness to help promote early detection through the recognition of signs and symptoms. Let’s work together this holiday season to promote early diagnosis and treatment, so that there are more survival stories like Christina’s.
